WASHINGTON, DC, February 6, 2023 – Ames & Gough, a leading insurance broker and
risk management consultant specializing in serving design professionals, law firms,
associations/nonprofits and other professional service organizations, today announced the
appointments of Allison Barefoot, Brian Lynch and Cady Sinks as equity partners of the firm.
The three executives all are based in the firm’s Washington, DC office; their appointments
bring to 16 the number of equity partners of Ames & Gough, which was established in 1992.

Allison Barefoot, an account executive, has more than 20 years of insurance brokerage
experience. She joined Ames & Gough in 2013 and was appointed a vice president three years later. Previously, she was with USI Insurance Services for 12 years and held a variety of
positions of increasing responsibility in insurance brokerage and client services, culminating
with her appointment as commercial lines account executive and team leader. She earned a
B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and holds the Certified
Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
Brian Lynch, an account executive, has more than 12 years of experience in insurance
brokerage. He joined Ames & Gough in 2017 and was named assistant vice president in 2020. Earlier in his career, he served with insurance brokerages in Boston, MA where he was a member of the Boston Young Professionals, Cape Cod Young Professionals and Falmouth
Chamber of Commerce. He earned a B.A. degree in broadcast communications from Elon
University.
Cady Sinks, an account executive, has more than 18 years of experience in insurance and risk management. She joined Ames & Gough in 2016 and was named assistant vice president in 2020. Earlier, she served in risk management for a construction group for three years and prior to that was with Victor O. Schinnerer for nine years where she held a variety of positions, ultimately serving as program manager for contractor’s professional and pollution liability. She earned B.A. degrees in economics and English from The University of Virginia and an M.S. degree in insurance management from Boston University.
