Eileen Garczynski, Esq., senior vice president and partner, Ames & Gough, will be leading two key sessions at the American Bar Association (ABA) Spring Malpractice Conference, April 19-21 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

–       Lateral Hires, Wednesday, April 19. Garczynski will moderate “Breaking Up is Hard to Do: How to Execute a Successful Lateral Firm Move,” which she also is co-producing with Charles E. Lundberg, founder, Lundberg Legal Ethics PA. With law firms actively engaged in inorganic growth or lateral hiring, distinguished panelists will explain the management, fiduciary, insurance, and ethical risks of these measures; steps to make lateral hires more likely to succeed and what to do if they’re not working. 

–       Insurance Market Update, Thursday, April 20. Garczynski is co-producing (with Noah Fiedler, shareholder, Barron & Newburger, P.C.) “Insurance Market Update – Will Rising Inflation Drive up Legal Malpractice Exposures and Claims Costs?” Expert panelists will explore how a global recession might impact insurers; whether economic factors might affect risks triggering large claims; malpractice premium costs, as well as law firms insurers view as “preferred risks” and why. In this session – geared to firms of all sizes –they’ll also share questions insurers are asking law firms and answers they want to hear.
